ABSENCE OF PARTY MP’S IN THE PARLIAMENT:

The Congress President Sonia Gandhi has noticed that few of the party MP’s are having the poor attendance in Parliament and said that there will be strict and correct actions will be taken in order to rectify this problem.

During a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) in New Delhi Sonia says that the “problem of the poor attendance of both the Parties will be rectified sooner”. Considering this exception to the absence of members, she said, “Our chief whips have a tough task mobilizing all of you on crucial occasions. This reflects poorly on us and does little justice to those who have voted us to represent them here.”

Sonia asked the ministers to give time and be of assistance to MPs as the exceptions and demands from constituencies have increased and asked the ministers to have a visit to the party office and get along with the interaction with the party functionaries during the time of country travels.

Gandhi said there will be a series of training sessions conducted for the Party MP’S. The MP’s of the parties were requested to have a regular participation in standing committees and Consultative committees and to familiarizes themselves policies and programmes of the Government and whether it is implemented properly in the places under their control..
